– The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Murphy Rehab and Nursing is responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. The LPN will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients by delivering compassionate and efficient nursing services.
Key Responsibilities:
– Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
– Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
– Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
– Provide basic patient care, including wound care, catheterization, and personal hygiene assistance.
– Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
– Educate patients and their families about health maintenance and disease prevention.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
– Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
– Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Required Education:
– Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
– Current and valid LPN license in the state of employment.
Required Experience:
– Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a healthcare setting.
– Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.
– Demonstrated experience in patient care planning and implementation.
Required Skills and Abilities:
– Strong clinical skills with the ability to provide high-quality patient care.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
– Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Compassionate and patient-focused with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity.
